The Game - Y Gêm - Le Jeu
The Game is a short film project created in collaboration with composer Tayla-Leigh Payne, REDBRCK film productions, Fabulo, and Operasonic’s Young Cohort, celebrating the rugby community at NHSOB and the vibrant people of Newport.
The Game captures the essence of grassroots rugby, highlighting the importance of community and collaboration through the experiences of nearly 200 children from Newport schools who participated in workshops promoting self-expression through songwriting and music-making.
The film features inspirational performances from Operasonic’s Young Cohort and the French ensemble, Fabulo, with a soundtrack composed by Tayla-Leigh Payne, drawing inspiration from Newport’s young talents.
Funded by British Council Wales in partnership with the Arts Council of Wales, Wales Arts International, and the Welsh Government, The Game is part of a £100K Wales-France Cultural Fund, aiming to foster deeper connections between Welsh and French cultures.
Presented by Operasonic.
