Ysgol St Dwynwen’s School

Ysgol St Dwynwen’s School was a collaborative opera scenes project devised with the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama undergraduate class of 2021 during their final year. The performance was socially distanced and was rehearsed in person and over Zoom with Harvey Evans leading the sessions.

The selected Opera scenes were weaved together to create a story from the last day of school, including ‘drama’ between students, teachers having an affair, lovers’ quarrels, and an end-of-school prom.

The scenes used various music by Britten, Bizet, Mozart, and Gilbert and Sullivan lasting 45 minutes.

Performed in the Bassey studio at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, in February 2021.
