Not in Front of the Waiter
(Or Under the Aspidistra)
Not in Front of the Waiter - or Under the Aspidistra was a socially distanced REPCo production at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama supported by Arts & Business Cymru’s CultureStep programme and Bad Wolf.
A farcical comedy constructed from some of Offenbach's lesser-known works and was first performed as a tribute in 1963. A nervous couple meet at a restaurant for their first date and find their spouses doing the same. All is eventually revealed by the Waiter, including that he’s their father, and all are happily reunited with the correct spouse.
